PRINCE BUELOW'S FALL. SORROW IN BERLIN. AGRARIANS' VICTORY OVER AGRARIAN INTERESTS. t% ■■■'■> By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received June 7, 10.10 p.m. London, Juno 7. The Times' Berlin correspondent says there is sincere sorrow at Prince von Buelow's fall and a renewal of the Conservative Centre alliance is assured. Herr Dernburg is compelled to fight against increasing odds, and the Conservatives are necessarily opposed, primarily for commercial reasons and because of Germany's colonial (policy. Among other reasons, it is feared that imports ■will hurt the interior agrarian interests. The party, moreover, include a number of former colonial administrators, who resent the reversal to the former policy. Secondly, the Centre party, owing to the circumstances of Herr Demburg's appointment and his successful election campaign of 1907, regard all the important questions as relations between the Conservatives and non-Socialist parties of the "Left." Prince-von Buelow's resignation is regarded as a fresh victory of agrarian over industrial interests, and tends to widen the gulf exhibited 'by a collapse of the Prussian Franchise Bill. The resignation, comments the correspondent, "marks the end of a most remarkable Ministerial experiment in modern German history, and illustrates the deeip divisions 'between economic interests and the social traditions underlying the country's politics." The Times, commenting on the situation, says the outlook is serious for the Conservatives, and at the next election the Centre is safe if it can continue to hold its own against the Socialists. But the other parties of order are called to account because they helped to render office untenable for able, energetic representatives of the 'best type of German business men.
