■All the Field-Marshals of Great Britain presented King George at Marlborough House with a Field-Marshals baton. , , Lord Roberts, in a short speech, made the presentation, and King George made a felicitous reply. King George visited Mt. Chamberlain, and stayed with him for an hour.
AN AUSTRALIAN APPOINTMENT. Melbourne, June 6. When King George was Prince of Wales he accepted the Colonel-in-Chief-ship of the Australian Light Horse regiment. In reply to a query, the Kuig says he desires to retain the position.
