Won by two lengths. Time, 3min 25sec. Great Northern Hurdles Handicap, of 750 sovs, distance two miles and a-half. —E. 3. Watts Wimmena, by Merriwee— Mousqueterie, 10.9 (including 7l'b penalty) (Cress), 1; A. F. Douglas' Woolloomooloo, 9.0 (Pine), 2; V. Bolger's Prophet, 10.4 (Brady), 3. Also started: Tui Cakobau 9.13, Aorangi 9.5, Waitapu 9.2, and Airmagh 9.2. Won comfortably .by two and a-half lengths from Woolloomooloo, which 'was eight lengths away. Then came Prophet, with Tui Cakobau and Paritutu close up, followed by Armagh, the last pair being Aorangi and Waitapu. The time, 4min 52sec, was a record for the race.
