NKWTON KING'S REUORT. At the Ilaymai'ket on Saturday, notwithstanding the wet weather, there was a fair yarding of pigs, with good demand. Weaners made os (id to 8s 6d, store pigs 13s to los, forward store 10s to 17a Od, porkers 22s to 31s, baconer 365; hacks £4 to £5 10s, half-draught mare £lO 15s. At Douglas on Monday there was a good yarding of both cattle and sheep. An exceptionally good line of 800 4, b and f.f.m. ewes was penned by Mr. J. Farrell, and met with gooil competition, being knocked down at His sd. The cattle were also well competed for, nearly everything being sold at the 'hammer. Mixed weaners (small) made £1 Is to 235, do. (good quality) 38s to 3!)s, empty 18-month -heifers £2 8s to £2 12s, yearling steers £2 ss, 2 to 2'/ 2 -year steers £3 14s lid to £3 15s, store cows £2 U.< to £2 17s. fat cows £4 12s to £.4 17s, in-calf heifers £4 2s 6d to £4 16s, springing heifers £5 10s to £5 15s, stag £2 13s, bulls £2 to £3 Os, 4, 6 and f.f.m: ewes 16s sd, cull ewes 3s to 4s 2d. At Stratford on Tuesday, owing to the wet weather, there was only a small yarding. Weaners (small) made £1 3s to £1 Ss ; weaner heifers 36s 6d, empty heifers£2 10s, in-calf'heifers (backward) £3 !)s 6d, do. (forward) £5, 2M>-year steers £3 17s 6d, 3-year steers £4 lis, 3-year bullocks (fat) £6 15s, store cows £2 to £2 14s 6d; forward store cows £3 10s 6d to £4 ss; fat cows £5 to £5 17s, fat maiden heifers £5 12s to £5 14s, bulls (good condition) £5. At Stony River on Wednesday there was a full yarding. Mixed weaners made £1 2s 6d to £1 10s 6d, weaner steers 375, empty heifers £2 15s to £3 2s, in-calf heifers £4 0s to £5 10s, store cows £2 8s to £3 2s 6d, boners £1 9s Od to £1 15s, forward cows £3 14s to £4, fat heifers £5 I.os, 18-montlis steers £2 14s (id, 2-year steers £3 12s, 3-year steers £5 Is, bulls £2 19s.

OUTSIDE MARKETS. ADDINGTON. Store sheep—Sound-mouthed ewes and hoggets advanced about Is per head. Lambs made 9s 5d to lis Id, medium ewe lambs to lis Bd, four and six-tooth wethers to 13s, coarse six and eighttooth ewes lis to lis 9d, aged 5s to 6s 6d.

Fat lambs—Ordinary freezers 13s to 15s Od. tegs to 17s Od, light and unfinished 9s od to 12s 6d.

Fat sheep—.Extra prime wethers to 21s, prime 16s (M to 19s 9d, medium 14s to 16s, light 6s 9d to 13s 9d, merinos 7s 7d to 8s 9d, prime ewes 15s to 19s, medium 12s y 2 d to 14s 6d, aged 3s od to 12s.

Fat cattle—Average lines of beef realised 18s to 235, extra to 25s .per 100 lb. Steers made £0 17s 6d to £lO, extra to £ll 2s 6d, heifers £5 to £7, extra £8 10s, dry cows £4 17s 6d to £7 10s, extra, to £lO. Vealers—There was an average entry of calves, and ipricjes ranged from 4s 6d to £2 15s for well-grown animals. .Store cattle—Yearlings made to 21s, 15 to 18-months£2 15s, 2-year-olds passed at £2 12s 6d, 2-vear-6ld heifers £3 15s, 2y s -year old steers £3 17s 6d to £4 7s fid, dry cows £1 10s to £4- 7s fid. Dairy cows---The yarding consisted of a good useful class, and there was a good demand at prices from £3 Is to £8 10s, extra to £lO 7s fid. Pigs—There was a medium entry of fot pigs, which included some lines of very pood quality. The demand was dull. Prices wore: Choppers 50s to 60s, large baconers 47s 6d to 50s, smaller 38s to 45s (equal to 4d per lb); large pvrlcers 31s to 355, smaller 25s to 30s (equivalent to 4*4 d to 41/sd per lb). Stores were in poor inquest, and prices were low. Large store 14s fid to 225, smaller 9s to 14s, weaners 4s to 7s. BURNSIDE.

At Burnisde stock market there was a small yarding of fat cattle, only 106 being penned. The quality wu.and as the bidding was spirited prices showed an improvement of fully 10s per head all round. Best bullocks £lO to £lO 10s, extra, to £l2 12s 6d, medium to good £8 10s to £9 10s. light £6 10s to £7 10s, best cows and iheifers £6 10s to £7 10s, extra to £ll 12s 6d, medium to- good £5 10s to £0 10s, light £4 to £5.

Fat sheep—Best wethers 18s 6d to 2B» 6d, ex£ra to 245, medium to good 15s Od to 17s 6d, light and inferior 10s 6d to 13s 6d, best ewes 12s 6d to 13s 6d, extra to 16s 9d, good 10s to 12s, light 6s 6d to 7s fid.

F.-it lambs— Best 14s to 15s od, extra s'i-t.y 'airii--' to 20s, medium to good lis to 13- 3.1. light 8s 6d to 10 3 6d. Pigs—Suckers 3s (id to 7s 6d, clips !)s to lis 6d, stores 15s to 20s, porkers 25s to 355, light baconers 37s to 425, heavy baeoners 45s to 48s. WANGAXUI. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: —We held our Wanganui sale on Wednesday, when we had a small yarding and quiet sale. Lambs sold well, but breeding ewes were at quiet demand. We quote: Breeding e\vcs 9s, 9s 6d to 10s 6d; lambs (small) 6s lOd to 7s Bd, store cows £2 8s 6d, yearling iheifers £2 7s 6d, dairy cows £4 10s to £5 ss. JOBNSOXVILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Wanganui sale as i-ol-lows:—We offered a good yarding of prime cattle aid sheep, which sold readily at the following prices: Prime heavy bullocks £lO 5s to £lO 10s, prime bullocks £9 10s to £9 15s, lighter £8 17s 6d to £9 ss, prime heavy vealers £2 to £2 17s. lighter 38s to 395, small £l, prime wethers 17s to 17s Gd, prime ewes 16s 6d, good ewes 14s to 14s 5d to 15s, plain ewes 12s 6d to 12s 9d, prime lambs 12s 3d to 12s sd, woolly lambs 13s 3d to 14s 4d.
