FUSION OF COMPANIES.
POSITION EXPLAINED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. With reference to a cablegram from London stating that the Commercial Union had absorbed the Ocean Accident Insurance Company, Mr. H. N. Liardet, acting general manager of the Ocean Accident Company, states that the message does -not represent the position correctly. He has received cabled advice that the directors have entered into an arrangement for the fusion of the Ocean Accident and Commercial Union, out there will be no change in existing lines of business. Thus the Ocean Accident Company does not lose its identity, as the cablegram infers.
