INSURANCE AMALGAMATION.
POSITION EXPLAINED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, June 2. The Commercial Union Company lias absorbed the Ocean Accident and Guarantee Company. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, June 3. With reference to a cablegram irora London stating that the Commercial Union had absorbed the Accident Instance Company, Mr. H. N. Liardet, acting general manager of the Ocean Accident Company, states that the message does not represent the position correctly. He has received cabled advice that the directors have entered into an arrangement for the fusion of the Ocean Accident and Commercial Union, but there will be no change in existing lines of business. Thus the Ocean Accident Company does not lose its identity, as the cablegram infers.
