OBITUARY.
HON. R. H. J. REEVES, M'.L.C. By Telegraiph—Press Association, Nelson, June 1. The Hon. H. H. J. Reeves, M.L.C., died at 0.5 this morning, after a short illness of heart attack. He had been ailing off and on. Mr. Reeves was a native of Bnniscorthy, Wexford, where he was' born in: 1830.* On leaving school he went to sea. and lin 1852 he was attracted to the Victorian goldfields, later on following the rush to the West Coast of New Zealand. After serving on the Canterbury and Westlnnd Provincial Councils lie was elected to the House of Representatives as member of Grey Valley in 1878. From 1887 to 1802 he represented Inangahua. and in ISOS he wsis called to the Legislative Council, being reappointed in 1002, and again recently.
