SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. C. D. Bates reports:—The barometer has risen steadily in the North Island, but has ibeen "very unsteady in the iSouth. Strong southerly ■winds have prevailed in the North, and westerlies have predominated in the South. The weather has been changeable, 'but cold and fine in most parts. The indications are for a further rise in barometrical pressure, with moderate to ■strong southerly and westerly winds. Cold and. changeable weather will probably prevail, ibut squally weather is expected in the extreme south.
