DOUBLE TRAGEDY.
LOVE AND JEALOUSY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received May 31, 10.30 p.m. Melbourne, Last Night. A tragedy happened in the Sir Walter Scott Hotel in the city. Mrs. Dean, a barmaid, ran downstairs •with Wood rushing from a wound in her throat, a man named Punks, similarly wounded, closely following.. Punks succumbed in the hospital. Mrs. Deans condition is serious. The couple 'had been living together. Mrs. Dean claims to be a native of Westport, and' was separated from her husband. It is stated that Punks cut her throat, then his own. Jealousy is supposed to |>e the cause.
