SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast: A southerly gale with heavy rain prevailed in. many parts' on Monday night, and strong southerly winds generally to-day, •with changeable weather. The present indications are for a further rise in the barometer, and especially in the north, with ' strong southerly and westerly winds generally. The weather will probably continue cold and showery in many parts.
