NORTHERN UNION. LEAGUE. The annual general meeting of the Taranaki Rugby League was held on .Saturday evening-. There was a good attendance of members and intending members. The following officers were elected for the season:— President, .Mr. U. Tisch, Mayor; vice-presidents, Messrs. X. King, E. Cock, JJ. C. O'Dowda P. Mcl-'.vride, J. C. Webster, J. O'Driscoll, J. J. Stagpoole, B. Chaney, li. Gilboy, J. F. Hooker, John Avery, E. Elliot, and d. Blanehard; secretary and treasurer, Mr, T. P. Smith, pro tern.; auditor, Mr. C. J. Maclean; committee, Messrs. A. Hardgrave, W. McLean. C. Maclean, D. Mcßeady, L. Walsh, and T. Smith; selection committee, Messrs. T. Smith, A. Hardgrave, arid E. Buekland; delegates to New Zealand Rugby League, Messrs. W. Mackrell. R. Wynyard, and Griffin; delegate on Xew Zealand Council. Mr. W. Mack-rell. Subscriptions were fixed at 5s for hon. members and 2s (id for playing members'. Correspondence was read from the secretary of the Xew Zealand League re Taranaki-Britisli match and the affiliation of this League. The Taranaki-Britisli match is to be play-ed at New Plymouth, probably during August. The Taranaki League was granted af-J filiation by the N.Z. League. , It was decided to enter the Taranaki] team for the cup ( £4O) .presented for competition by the (English body, for inteiprovincial teams. Correspondence from South Taranaki way read, and a series of competitions was arranged for.—'The East and West X/.P. teams were approved of. Dates of aJI matches will be advertised at a future date. New members were elected, and the meeting adjourned. |
