A SUICIDE CASE. | By Telegraph—Press Association. j Gisborne, Monday. Henry Pardoe committed suicide' at Waerengaahika by cutting his throat with a razor. His wife had left him! and the children if bed .and had gone to' a neighbor's. Returning two hours' later she found him in a pool of blood.•' Deceased had been brooding over flnan-l cial troubles. He leaves four young children. A SILLY ACTION. Auckland. Monday. A bottle found on Cheltenham beach contained what purports to be a ines*' sage from a passenger by the ill-fated-Waratah. It reads: "Let friends com-; munieate with my sister. Miss , Street, Sydnev, to let her know I am alive and well. Two of us east on an, island. Boat gone down." The letter I are blurred and signed "Herf." Xo importance is attached to the message, which is regarded as a hoax. THE HEYES COMMISSION. Wellington. Yesterday.
