The Corinna, which arrived here on Sunday morning from Onehunga. loaded 53 tons of general cargo yesterday and left about noon for Wellington. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa brought 90 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning, in- 1 eluding 50 tons of cement, 5 tons of sugar, 3 tons' of flour, and a small quantity of fruit. Two racehorses were also landed. '
THE KOONYA. The Koonya, from southern ports, is due here this' morning. Her cargo will amount to about 500 tons. A MAMMOTH DREDGE. ■ V ■ . ■ --. ■ | New Plymouth's' new dredge is insignificant beside one recently installed at Liverpool. This new vessel, the Leviathan, ranks as the largest and most •powerful dredge that has yet been placed in operation in any part of the world. It has an over-all length of 487 ft., a beam of 69ft., and a depth of 30ft 7in, these large dimensions being necessary to afford the requisite capacity and strength to carry the designed enormous load of 10,000 tons'of sand. It is of the twinscrew, self-propelling, sand-pump, hopperdredge type, provided with twelve hop-i pers, having a total net capacity of 180.000 cubic feet, and is fitted with pumps capable of dredging and filling itself with this load of clean Mersey sand in 50 minutes from a maximum depth of 70ft, whilst the propelling machinery gives a speed, with full load, of 10 knots.
