AN ENGLISH PROTEST. By Cable—Press Received May 20. 5.5 p.m. ■ London, Mav 28. The Huddersfield Chamber of" Commerce lias decided to urge upon the Government to strive to induce Japan to reduce her proposed tariff on woollen, worsted, and cotton goods. Some of the new duties equal 400 per cent.
