NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Saturday at the Haymarket a quantity of timber was sold, but prices were slightly lower than at the previous sale. A fair number of pigs were penned and sold at the following rates: —Slips 3s Gd to 5s tkl, weaners 4s 6d to 7s Od, stores 13s fid to 18s, porkers £1 4s Gd, mare £5 10s,

On Monday I held a clearing sale on account of Mr. J. L. Arndt, of Tataraimaka. There was a large attendance ot buyers, and the cows being mostly young and in good condition, satisfactory prices were realised. Early ealvers made £0 las to £8 15s late 'ealvers £4 2s Od to £0 10s, bull £3 -2s 6d, sows £2 to £2 15b, store pigs 14s Gd, horse £l3 10s, dray £7 15s, gig £l2, disc harrows £4 ss. Sundries and furniture said at usual rates.

On Tuesday, 10th inst., I neld a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr. A. Ridd, of \vaipuku, when there was a large attendance of buyers. The cattle were chiefly in-calf Jersey heifers. Being a nice lot and looking well, they sold at the following prices:—2 to 2y 2 -year heifers (early ealvers} £7 to £9 10s, do. (late ealvers) £5 5s to £6 ss, 20-months in-calf heifers £3 5s to £5 ss, 20months p.b. Jersey bulls £7 to £8 10s, half-draught black mare £2l 10s, haltdraught .bay gelding £l9 10s, dray £l2 10s, .plough £5 ss, disc 'harrows £G. chain do. £3, cart harness £3 5s to £4 Ms. Furniture and sundries sold at satisfactory prices. ,

On the same day at Rahotu there was a fair yarding. Competition was keen for all classes, and everything sold at the hammer at full market prices. Weaners made 26s 6d to 30s, weaner Jersey heifers £3, in-calf heifers (small) £3 12s, store cows £2 to £3 Is, rorward cows £3 4s to £3 18s, springing cows £6, fat cows £5 14s, bulls £2 7s 6d, stag £3 3s. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a fair yarding, with a good attendance. The cattle were in good oroer, and.bidding was brisk throughout, practically everything selling at the hammer. Mixed weaners made 25s to 355, yearling steers £2 Is Cd, empty heifers £3 (is 6d to £-3 15s, Jersey do. £4 7s 6d, store-cows £2 15s to £3 4s, forward cows £4 10s to £7, in-calf heifers £4 7s 6d to £4 17s 6d, do. Jerseys up to £6, 2% to 3-year bullocks £5, bulls £3 to £4 2s, stags £3, lambs .(small) 5s Bd, f.m. ewes 6s. MATTHEWS & BENNETT'S REPORT. Messrs Matthews and Bennett report a fair j'arding at their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. The attendance was good, and a large percentage of the cattle were sold at the following prices: Store cows £1 17s to £3 (is, spring calvers £2 7s 6d to £6, springing heifers £6 to £0 12s (id, in-calf-heifers £3 4s to £3 6s, 18-moiith steers £2 15s, bull.-, £2 4s, weaners 24s to 37s 6d.
