GERMAN DISTURBERS.

A CONSUL'S EXPLANATION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 27The German Consul-General, reporting on the disturbances -caused by the German seamen on May 7, says that no one regrets the incident more than himself. The whole German community join in this feeling. Inquiries showed that most of the German sailors belonged to the crew of a British ship, and were returning aboard after drinking with some friends from a German ship. The mummery the men wore was the same as used when celebrating the crossing of the line. ■That they seem to have had no intention to insult the memory of the late King may be taken from the fact that they were returning aboard a British ship. The men declared they did not come ashore till night, and were unaware of the King's' death.
