ATTEMPTED TRAIN WRECKING

SENSATION AT GORE. Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Gore, 'Last Night. What looks like a premeditated attempt to wreck the express train from Gore to Kingston was made yesterday, when two boulders were placed f.n the rails at the Kingston crossing, a point twenty-five miles north of Core. These caused the front wheels of the engine to leave the rails. The occurrence is all the more extraordinary on account of the fact that half an hour previously the down express passed without mishap. Hie stones must have been deposited in the middle of .the day. It can easily be traced where the stones were lifted from the bank. The district is sparsely populated.

The police are investigating the af fair.
