It is officially stated that the late King Edward bequeathed his racing aiiu breeding studs to King George, who will carry them on upon the same lines as his father. Their Majesties and the Queen Mother desire that hi order that trade shall not suffer, the full general mourning shall cease on 17tn June, and half mourning on 30th June. ° QUEEN-MOTHER'S GRATITUDE. London, May 24. Queen Alexandra granted an audience to Sir G. H. Reid to-day, and expressed in most touching terms her gratitude for the loyal devotion shown during King Edward*'s reign and to his memory, and for the sympathy extended to herself by the Australian people. Queen Alexandra gave audience to Mr. Roosevelt, Lord Strathcona and Sir G. Reid together. Princes Edward and Albert have returned to Dartmouth and Osborne to resume their educational work.
