BREACHES OP LICENSING ACT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. At the Motueika Court yesterday several liotelkeepers and employees were charged with breaches or Uie Licensing Act in supplying youths under the apparent age of 18, and in one case 01 permitting drunkenness. The cases were the sequel to an accident at Pokororo on Easter Monday night iby which a young man named Porter lost his life. The evidence then showed that deceased ami his comipanions Jiad been drinking during the day at various hotels, and at a licensed booth on the sports ground, and the Coroner directed the police to make searching enquiries into the matter. Four convictions were entered on the charges of serving youths under age, two of the defendants being fined £3, another £2, and the other was convicted only.
