STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From our Special Correspondent). Stratford, Last Night. The Governor paid his farewell visit to Stratford—if the brief stay can be designated ia. visit—to-day. He was met at the station iby the Mayor and borough councillors, Mt. ,1. B. Hine, M.P., and the chairman of the County Council. An illuminated address was presented to His Excellency, and after a brief reply the Governor departed for Huiroa. A man named W. Read, working at Wihangnmomowa, -had the Angers of his left hand 'blown off through a premature explosion. He was taken to .New Plymouth for medical treatment. The full returns of "Hospital 'Saturday" are not yet available. > General sympathy will be felt for Mr. M. W. Bayly, who received word yesterday of the death of his father. The match between the lnglewood and Stratford Golf 'Clubs to have been .played to-morrow .has fallen through on account of the former club being unable to get a team. The first men's medal competition of the local gjolf cluib was played last week, the following being the scores:—
