THE WINTER SHOW.
To the Editor. Sir,—You and the rest of us have to be very busy during the next two weeks in "keeping North Taranaki's end up," and we can do it if everybody helps a little. The arrangements for the show are well in hand, much of the space has already been taken, a number of entries are in, and all entries efose on Saturday next, the 2Sth, at 9 p.m. The schedule (which should be in every home, as over 6000 have been issued) contains about 180 classes, and there is room for anything that can be produced on the land in the home, or in the school. Ali that is required now to make the display the best ever seen in Taranaki, is for every family'to show something—if only one item—and then everybody to come on one of the four days to see the show. We shall then wonder where all the stuff came from. The only way we, as a people, can 'know what the district can produce, is for the settlers to bring along their best. lam certain the best will be worthy of Taranaki. For the sake of our reputation, let us do it this time, and rise another step on the ladder of progress.—l am, etc., W. AMBUR\.
