The enquiry into the charges against Peter Heyes, Commissioner of Taxes, in connection with the administration of the Land and Income Tax Department, was commenced to-day. A bag containing 00 plugs of-gelig-nite was found lying amongst ihe shrubs in tlie grounds of the Catholic Apostolic Church, Webb street, one day last week.
