HALLEY'S COMET.
m FURTHER OBSERVATIONS. Hy Cable —Press Association—Copyright, London, May 22. Reuter's New York correspondent says that Mr. Hale, of Mount Wilson Observatory, saw Halley's comet despite the moonlight. The tail was distinct, and spread fanwise over several degrees. Observations showed that the comet is disappearing in the distance. Ottawa, May 22. Professor Birkland, who observed the comet at Finmark, Canada, suggests that the tail is principally electric rayg.
