m A DOCTOR'S SUICIDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Paris. May 22. Dr. Betit, head of Sister Candide's charitable institution has committed suicide. He left papers accusing the Sister of embezzlement. Le Matin states that Sister Candide's assets amount to £160,000, and her liabilities to double that amount. There is evidence of unbusinesslike conduct in paying large sums without asking for receipts. A FRESH CLAIM. Received May 23, 11.35 p.m. Paris, May 23. A fresh claim for a quarter of a million has been made against Candide for the construction of a sanatorium.
