DISAPPOINTED LAND-SEEKERS. The .ballot for the Hauraki Plains Factions -toiok place to-day, mid created great interest, fully 300 Persons being present, (lairing the bal!<.\ which was carried out in a thoroughly efficient and systematic manner. In some cases the name called as representing the successful number brought forth, no response, the successful applicant evidently not being present. In such cases, where the deposit ■had not been lodged beforehand, the name was passed over, and a fresh, number drawn.
