THE ASSOC [AT lOX GAME. N.Z. ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, iLast Night. At the annual meeting of the 'New Zealand Football Association the following officers were elected:—Patron: His Excellency the Governor; president, Sir Joseph Ward; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. H. Poole, M.P. (Auckland), J. T. Hogan, M.P., and C. E. Maekay (Wanganui), H. N. Holmes, F. J. Courtney and J. G. W. Aitken (Wellington), S. W. Thornton, J. Vigor Brown, M.P., A. Dillon (Napier), R. Heaton Rhodes, M.P.,- R. B. Walker (Canterbury), F. K, Sidey, M.P., and J. F. Arnold, M.P. (Otago), liannan (Southland), Hon. W. C. Canicroas, M.L.'C., and Dr. E. Additions were made to 1 the Brown Shield regulations to permit the Council tb take the net proceeds of any match, land to retain the same until after the last match of the season has been played out. From money so retained the Council .shall have power to make 1 good any loss sustained by a liome team in connection with such matches. To tabulate the amount of loss an association shall be entitled to take into account, the Tent of ground (not to exceed £lO ' for one match) and advertising (£3), but no other expenditure. As soon as the last match of the season has been played' the balance so retained shall be refund'ed' to the association concerned.
No association holding the Brown Shield sliuli: be asked to play more than four matches, and the last of the three shall lie a ffli'd'-week match if the holders so desire. No challenges for the shield shall Be received before t'he hrst of May, ancf tJlie challenge. if not played one year, sMwlI be carried over to the next, if not withdrawn by March 3H Taranaki, Auckland, Otago and Canterbury forwarded challenges for the Brown Shield. The Poverty Bay Association was granted affiliation. The Auckland Association is to 'lie consulted before the Poverty Bay area is settled.
