CORRESPONDENCE.

RE THAT COMET. To the Editor. Eir, —Hal ley's comet has a lot to answer for. Prior to its appeanance, my domestic lot was ia happy one—now it is not. My husband thinks more of the comet than he does of his bed—to say nothing of his sleeping partner. While iwie held the list you kindly published, of the hows observed by the said comet, all went well. The household could be rousedi at a set hour, but the list is lost. and at any and every hour my hotter half rises- from his bed and rushes forth into the "stilly nilgihit" 'to look ror dim friend Hn.lley. A cold draught, a banking door, a waking 'bany, reminds me that my partner is down the garden looking for his celestial friend. A few mornings ago we had just managed once more to return to the arms of Morpheus when a sharp rap at the window aroused my husband. It was a. friendly llal-ley-ite calling about 4 a.m. to haul him out to view the comet. I had to follow, and while I thanked the kind friend for calling, I muttered something beneath my breath that was absolutely unfit for print. I may add that till the approach of the comet my husband was as sane as ordinary mortals are. Thank heaven it iwill soon he over and hy the time it next appears I hope to be beyond me reach of .its tail.—l am, etc., ANTI-HALLEY-ITE.
