Griffiths and Co., Xew Plymouth are in receipt of tine following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mins and .Sparrow, dated April Btih, 1910: — The weather remains cold, which is all against the production in the British Isles .and on the Continent. Danish: There 'has been good trade, and the quotation is unaltered. French: There is no further alteration in price since our last report, as supplies are rather short. Australian: There is a goou supply this week .per s.s. Osterley, Everton Grange and Poona. The two first-named vessels have completed discharging, and the tatters are .practically all sold. We , are now waiting for the Poona, which ; docked yesterday and is discharging toj day. Although the quality ,;his week shows a slight improvement, it is still | not up to the best standard, but the , demand has continued good, and all the butters are sc.ing well. There'is a good strong feeling amongst the agents and also buvers seem now to quite realise that the .price of butter is going to continue to be on a .high level, owing to | the increase in consumption and to shorter supplies from the Continent. ! .New Zealand: The Arnwa docked last night, and it is expected tint her butters will be on tihe market on Monday.j Unfortunately she does not bring a full eavho. several factories Gripping their butters per Karamea, which is not due till the 17th hist. Trade continues good all round, and the -ume remarks apply, here as we tave already written about! Australian. j Cheese—Canadian: The .position is un-| changed, and the trade this week lias been steady. New Zealand: The s.s. Kaiyara cheese that was shipped per Riwliine has been swr.veved, and allowances settled satisfactorily. They have been selling at a shilling or so under market quotations, and it'lras therefore jnade it uiflienlt to sell the other cheese at top market price, but the .position generally is pretty sound. _ NEW PLYMOUTH RETAIL PRICES.
