NEW ZEALAND UNION*. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, 'the New Zealand University Football Club wrote asking tihat a matcili be arranged between the American Universities team and a ]teiam representing New Zealand Universities; also that, it possible, other matches be arranged between the visitors and the New Zealand Colleges. The New South Wales Union wrote staging 'that it was desirous of playing a match at Sydney between a combined ■New Zealand and Australian University team and the v-isitors, and asking if the New Zealand Union was agreeable. It was decided to reply to the New Zealand Universities Club that the committee could not vary the programme already agreed on in conjunction with the New South Wales Union, which was a partner in the venture. Regarding the New South Wales Union's suggestion, it was decided not to approve of the suggestion to play a combined New South Wales and New Zealand Universities team against the visitors. The New South Wales Union forwarded a list of matches arranged for the Americans' tour, it was deckled to reply that the New Zealand Union was somewhat surprised that the programme did not include any representative matches, and to point out tnat the New Zealand Union was making matches here as important sis possible in the interests of all parties concerned. The disqualification of a South Canterbury player till the end of 1910 for ■using abusive language .towards a referee was confirmed aiiu made general. A player reported by the South Auckland Union for professionalism in pliayonir Northern Union football was expelled. An application for reinstatement bv a Taranaki ■player expelled for professionalism was refused.

Mr. G.' H. Dixon was re-elected chair man of tihe Management Committee.
