(From Uur Resident Correspondent) Stratford, Lust Night. The followling are the payments for the month of the Ngaere, Cardiff, and Lowgarth dairy factories, the amounts .for the corresponding month last year being shown in parentheses: —Ngaere £1722 (£1430), Cardiff £1172 (£1137), Lowgiarfch £llOl (£022). The increase in the output is the best proof of the remarkable season ■which Taranaki has experienced. A match has been arranged between the Stratford and Inglewood Golf Clubs for 24th May. It 19 reported that Mr. T. Ireland, of Brookes road, has purchased the farm of Mr. J. Jago on the Makara road., The Borough Council are taking Miction in regard to the dangers of the crossings over the railway lines at Fenton-street and Regan-street by asking the member for the district, Mr. J. B. Hine, to interview the Minister and endeavor to secure the erection of warning (bells. At the meeting of the Borough Council last night it was decided to extend the drainage in Orlando-street iupon receipt of a guarantee from four of the ratepayers to connect their premises. There was considerable discussion over the notice of motion to rescind the resolution authorising the extension of the water mains to the 'abattoirs. The motion was carried, and it was decided that the matter of putting in a ram be leit ■to the borough foreman. The following committees were appointed:—Works: Crs. King, Budge, Healy, 'Paget, and the Mayor. Library: Crs. Anderson and Budge, with power to add to their number from the public. Fire Brigade: Crs. KLng, Stohr, .and 1 Ward. Lighting: Crs. Healy, Stohr, Ward, and \oung. Finance: Crs. Anderson, Healy, and the Mayor. Town Hall and Reserves: Crs. Ward and Healy. Crs. Anderson, Ward, Budge, and the Mayor were appointed a 'Committee to wait on the Domain Board with regard to the improvement of the reserves in the 'borough. Notice of motion was given to strike a general rate of 2y B d, special rates of Id, 7-16 d, 3-16 d, and l-10d, and a water rate of Od in 'the pound. The electric light came before the Borough Council last night, when Cr. Balfe moved his notice of motion that the borough solicitor be instructed to ascertain the position as between the Council and the company. After Crs. Budge, Anderson, and King had- withdrawn the Council went into committee, and on resinning reported that the Borough Council's solicitor be instructed to take steps to ascertain the position as between the Council and the company in regard to the latter's concessions from the Council, and that the Mayor and Crs. Ralfe, Ward, Stohr,, Healy, Paget, and Xoung he a committee <to consider the matter and report. The report was adopted.
