KORU. (From Our Own Corresnondent.) Out Arcadian town was en fete on Wednesday, when Alexander, youngest son of Mr. Ewan Looney, of Oakura, brought home his bride. In the evening the newly-wedded couple were visited .by the "tin-can brigade," when tiiey received a royal salute that iwou-Jd rival a broadside from one of his Majesty's Dreadnoughts. The cake deputation' were entertained until 2«. m., when they left, feeling like Barry Lauder 1 ' "Too fu' i ih' Noo." Everyone in the district wishes the couple a long and prosperousi life. j The Road Board election came on on Thursday, when-Messrs Morris, Richardson, McGregor, Smart and Looney were elected. On Thursday the Kaitake Rifle Club paraded for ' drill under Sergt.-Mia.jor .Sanderson. A fair number rolled up, and were put through some useful exercises. An effort should be made to get every member of the club to be present at these annual parades. • The weather for "the last week hia.s been very cold, nviith continual showers of hail, a'nd the milk tos gone down to the cows' horns to seek shelter for tue winter.
