INGLEWOOD NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The hockey dance in the Parish Hall on Thursday evening proved to be one of the most enjoya;ble functions of its kind held in inglewood this season. The •hall was just nicely filled for dancing, and the floor was in excellent order,. Mr. H. Cottier and family supplied the music and a much appreciated supper was handed round at about 11 o'clock. After supper air. W. H. James announced that he had a very pleasing function to perform, viz., the presentation to Mrs. Cox of a large framed photo of the team which annexed the chield in 1908. He spoke in eulogistic terms of the keen interest Mrs. Cox had always evinced in the welfare of the club and the willing assistance she had always given any- i I thing in connection with the.club. He also mentioned that Mrs. Cox had presented the club with a banner and two I line fhvgs, worked and embroidered in the club's colors. He therefore called «n her to accept this small token of the club's appreciation of 'her services. Mr. 1 R. J. Frewin responded on behalf of Mrs. Cox.

Some few local sports are making a| trip to various backblock districts in the] hope of finding some game, now so scarce in this part of the district. Realising the shortness of the time at their' disposal sports intend to make the season especially lively 'while it lasts, and most of their majesties the pheasants will experience the exciting if somewhat dangerous sensation of being followed in their flight by an ounce of shot. All flags are still flying half-mast here, and those o n the railway goods shed and the post office bear the strip of crepe over the flag.
