NORTH TARANAKI HUNT
Aim' AT BELL BLOCK. The -\ortii ianinuKi Iluiu held a very enjoyable meet at .Mrs. street's property, Bell Block, on Thursday afternoon. About fifty members of the Hunt were present. It was fine hunting weather, with just sufficient "freshness" ill the air. Rain on the previous evening had made the sceat very keen, and llie hounds worked to perfection. The jumping throughout the afternoon was exceptionally good, not a single fence being knocked down. The first three hares that were started were kiued after very short runß, the scent being so keen that the hounds got on to the hares too fast for long runs. Several short, "choppy" runs followed. ami turn the hounds started a have that, gave the hunt a splendid run over about two miles of fine hunting country. This hare got away. The mxt hare gave the hunt another nue run, leading the hunt over about a mile and a half oi practically the same country as in the previous run, .and then getting away into >Uish. The hunt then adjourned to the homestead ana partook with great appreciation of Mrs. Street's generous hospitality.
Next week a bve-moet will be held at the Kennels, lie!! Block. Some ot the member, of the cl.i'i who attended yesterday's m.ot wore red waistcoats, which looked very v.vl!. It v.o;:j! ':«• a good thin'g if the remaining members followed tlieir example.
