The Mayor's action in sending a telegraphic despatch to his Excellency the Governor, • for transmittal to England, was approved. The Governor's reply to the above, to the effect that the message would be forwarded in due pourse, nii'.l also a cancellation of arrangements for his Excellency's visit to the borough von- iVnJt with. The Council then adjourned.
A team of twelve crib players journeyed to Kgmont Village on Tuesday and suffered defeat by the narrow margin of six games. the scores- being 57 to .51. Members of the team were entertained at supper by the home players, and apeak in high terms of their hospitality.
