Speaking at a luncheon of the Li censed Victuallers' Association, the State Treasurer declared that the proposal that the Government should take ovor the drink traffic and make it a State concern was one which would not «iar close investigation. The Government would have to find £12,000,000 to do if. which was a practical impossibiltiy, w cept over a long course of years.
