Watson declared that th> objective of botli Federal and State Labor parties was Socialism, but lie wished to protest against the spirit and propaganda of the extreme Socialists. The world is not ripe for Socialism, and if it could ibe brought about to-morrow it would drop of its own weight. The people must bo educated to a fuller sense of civic responsibility before it is possible.
