The Hon. W. P. Reeves has resigned his position of financial adviser to the Government in London. Amongst the passengers per s.s. Karawu to Auckland last night were Messrs. Walter Bewley, C. Dr. Buck has been feted by several of the leading natives in the Cook Islands, as he is much liked; The Bishop of Auckland (Dr. Neligan) was taken ill on Monday. Upon Dr. Marsack being called in, the Bishop was pronounced to be suffering From a threatened nervous breakdown. His Lordship has been ordered complete rest and freedom from all duties and personal visitations during the next few days.
