Fear rules him and he is >of God where he was mtended to be. "But" says the apostle, "we see -A MAN CROWNED WITH GLORY," and in that vision there is something -that lifts .up our souls with encouragement and hope. We see Jesus humtued and suffering death for men and crowned ■with glory and honor. We see the God man in the likeness of men; we see His atoning sacrifice to redeem men find that .work consummated in the resurrection of our ascended Lord. That eight is like a sunrise after darkness—in the darkness and dispelling it. Who is He? He is the One Who has come from God, out of love to man, "to put away sin," "to destroy him that had the power of death," ito .bring life and to be the light of men. That is soulinspiring. The conqueror has come and -victory can be ours through Him. S.in may not have dominion over us. All -that saddens may be abolished, and where there is moral desert it may "blossom as the rose. Christ can put men right. He came to do so—to deliver jfrom bondage and bring many sons into glory. The point the apostle is exulting in is—we see Christ who tasted death for every man a victor over -death. Bv this death he atoned for sin, and He now lives exalted a , prince and a Saviour to give repentance to men and forgiveness. He died ,and I rose again for us. He is the first fruit and pledge of our resurrection, s.ntt through Him glory and honor. There is not only hope and assurance for me personally if I trust in Him, but there is hope for all the world some day. He shall reign universal yet. The heathen shall give up their superstition and idols and men shall give up their sin. From no other standpoint can we look with "hope upon the future of men than from the cross and triumph of Christ. Righteousness exalteth a nation." Experfence proves that He is the only One Who can deal effectually with fcin. The world has many to-day in whose hearts Christ reigns and from whose lives sin has liot had the power it had. formerly. When we trusted Christ He changed us and put hope and life and assurance into us*' He waits to do this for all men. This, then, is the vision ■urn Christian sees in Jesus Christ.
