. JTORTHER-N ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Council of u.e Northern Bowling Association . met to-night. The Waitemata Club wrote withdrawing affiliation, owing to lack of funds. A suggestion from Jacques and Sons, London, that they be appointed official bias testers and stampers to the Association in Britain was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary. Mr. G. H. Dixon (of Thorndon Club) was appointed secretary to the Association at a salary of £4O per annum. NEW ZEALAND BOWLERS. Received May 7, 0.35 a.m. Sydney, Last Night. Advantage was taken of the presence in Sydney of a number of New Zealand bowlers, including Broughton, of Auckland, and Steele, Bullot, and Smart, of New Plymouth, to play three friendly matches. The first ended in favoro- f the visitors iby 35 to 10. The second was won by the local men by 23 to 20. The third resulted in a draw.
