In reply to a deputation from various unions to-night to protest against' the proposal to make Hawke's Bay a separate district for the purposes of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, the Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister of i Labor, said he saw no reason for inei easing the number of districts, and had no intention at present of bringing! down legislation to split up the-Welling-! ton district. The Court always had] power to adapt its awards to the needs of\a particular district, if such differentiation were needed, in cases where it would lip disadvantageous for country workers to have the same conditions imposed on them as were imposed on city workers. !
