The tenants on Hilmartin and Hartham estates made presentations to Lord Islington, the new Governor of NewZealand. Replying, Lord Islington stated that his recent experiences in the West Indies and Canada had brought him into close connection with Imperial problems, with which he would be so closely associated in the future.. He would take an active share in strengthening the Imperial ties, which all. New Zealanilers were equally desirous; of strengthening.
