A FLIGHT IN SYDNEY. Sydney, May 2. Houdini, in an aeroplane, accomplished a flight of 2% miles in 3min IV sec. IN AN AIR POCKET. AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE. London, May 1. It has transpired that Mr. Paulhan, while upon the last stage of his journey, encountered an air pocket. He flew suddenly into the midst of a vertical down current. His aeroplane fell 200 feet and faster than b.v gravity, owing to the downward pressure. The descent was so sudden that M. Paulhan lost contact with his seat, and was only saved by firmly gripping the control lever. Paris, May 2. An enormous' crowd welcomed M. Paulhan upon his return to Paris. He was carried along the Gare du Nord shoulder high.
