INGLEWOOD NOTES.

(From Our Resident Correspondent.) The Loyal Picture (Company gave a performance in the Parish Hall on Friday night, when a fair audience was present.' Patrons were well satisfied with the evening's entertainment. The Inglewood Games Club held its initial meeting on Friday evening, the .programme arranged being a crib, match, -East v. West. After an interesting match the West proved victorious by the narrow margin of two games. Trophies for the largest number of games on the winning side were won by Messrs. E. Harris and W. H. James, with nine games each out of the twelve played. The Bowling Club has decided to close fo the season, and the Golf Club takes the place of the bowl. During the week the various challenge and championship matches were decided. The challenge rinks resulted in a win for Mr. G. W. Bennett's rink.

Jos. Drake ,W. E. Percival, J. Mvnott and G. W. Bennett (skip) defeated Wilson's rink (Cottier, 0. Carrol, Sutherland, .Wilson, skip) -by 8 points. The day on which the match was played was very windy, and this interfered' considerably with the accuracy of the play. The winners become the possessors of the four gold medals presented by Mr, T. Calgher for competition. In the Challenge Doubles Messrs Wilson and Johnston defeated Messrs. Cottier and O'Carrol. The winners receive a trophy to the value of a guinea each. Mr. H. Cottier annexed the Championship Singles and the pair of bowls which accompanied the championship. Mr. Cottier also has his name, with the year, inscribed on the Club's shield. The Handicap Singles have all been played, out the handicaps will not be opened until Tuesday evening next. j Mrs. Mcßeth opened her children's dancing class on Saturday in the Parish) I-lall, when a fair attendance «ii pupils were present. | There being no such attraction as the 1 "Factory cheque" to draw the farmer to town, Inglewood was quieter than usual 1 for a Saturday.
