The Turks are enevloping the position, which is described as another Thermopylae. The Albanians have agreed to permit train services to be continued on condition that they are allowed to search every train. The- Battle of Thermopylae was fought in 480 B.C. between Xerxes and the Greeks, when 300 Spartans resisted for three successive days the repeated attacks of the bravest and most courageous of the Persian Army, which, according to some historians, numbered five million inen. Thermopylae is a small pass leading from Thessaly into Locris and Phocis.
