HOME MARKETS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, April 27. At the wool sales 9580 bales were catalogued. There was a good average selection, including 6803 bales from Sew Zealand. There was a very large attendance of European buyers ■and a few Americans. There was a strung demand for merino, which remain linn at top January rates. Crossbreds practically remain unchanged. Shabby lower sorts are slightly in 'buyers' favor. Copper —Spot £SO 3s ( Jd, three months £57 ss.
Tin —Spot £149 12s tid, three months £l5O 12s tid. At the tallow sales 805 casks were offered and 500 were sold. Prices are unchanged. At the wool sales 0580 bales were catalogued. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Meat —At our usual sale 011 Saturday nve had a good attendance of tin; public and prices realised were as follows: — Beef, sirloins 3'/<>d to 4'/ 2 d, rounds .'id to 4cl, roasts 2y s d, ribs. 3d to 3%d, corjn l%d to "2d, wing rib 4'/yd. Muttoii, legs 4d to 4%d, fores 3d to 3y 3 d, loin '2 l / 2 d to 4d. Rabbits: Our first consignment arrived on Saturday and realised Is Id per pair. Wo have arranged for a regular supply of these each Xalimlav. Poultry—On Saturday we. had our usual' good entry. Prices were well maintained for good young liens and .pullets. We quote: —Chicks (very young) 4d, hens (young) 2s 4d to 2s lOd, old do. Is 2d to. Is l(kl, pullets (good) up to 3s 3d, inferior 2s, cockerels (fat) 2s 3d to 2s 7d, do. (young) lid to Is (id, purebred 4s Cd, ducks In lOd to 2s Bd. A large quantity of boots and useful sundries were disposed of in the ma,rt. Fruit—This still comet forward in good supply. Pears have ibeen in largest supply. The good varieties of fruit hove sold readily, but some consignments, particularly a. Canterbury one, arrived in very had order.
