SCHOOL COMMITTEES
NORFOLK. The annual meeting of householders at the Norfolk school was held on Monday night. Considering the state of the weather there was a fair attendance. A ballot was taken, resulting in the following being elected: Messrs H. Trimble, A. Marshall, T. Jones, W. Corney, J. Burgess, E. Stevens and A. Johnston.—Own correspondent.
TIKORAXGL. The annual meeting of householders lapsed, only the chairman of the outgoing committee and two others putting in an appearance. This state of affairs may either be taken as evidence of satisfaction with the work of the headmaster (Mr. West) or of indifference of parents towards the education of their children.—Own correspondent.
DURHAM. The householders of the Durham road school district attended in fair numbers at the annual meeting on "Monday night. The cold weather, no doubt, prevented u larger attendance, as some interest has lately been evinced 'by the ladies in school matters. The following were elected:—Messrs Joe Corney, F. Hodges, J. Mischewski,. G. Mehrtens, J. Dombroski, A. Dodunski, and J. B. Simpson (secretary). Mr. F. Hodges was voted to the chair for the ensuing term. A resolution was passed protesting against the action of the Education Department in discontinuing the special capitation grant and a motion forwarded to the Moa School Committees' Association re the matter. —Own correspondent.

OAKURA. The annual meeting of householders was not very largely attended. Most people seem to shy clear of .all school affairs and education matters. T think myself that it would be much better if we all took a greater interest in these matters and watched more closely the education of the rising generation. The following committee was elected: — Messrs j. Wilkie, J. West, T. Corkill, J. Looney, F. Aroa, W. Morris and C. Mace. Mr. F. Aroa was appointed chairman for the ensuing year.—Own correspondent.
