Returns of imports and exports published in to-night's Gazette, enable the following comparison to be made:— First quarter, 1009: —Exports, £7,031.134; imports. £4,220,741. Excess of exports, £2.804,303. First Quarter 1010. —Exports. £8,859,G57: imports, £3,01 IJOo. Excess of exports, £4,947,800. During March last 2.">5(i persons arrived in Xew Zealand and 380,' i departed.
In March 1009 the arrivals numbered 31347 and departures 4780.
