There was an excellent attendance at the monthly meeting held in the Baptist Church on Wednesday. Mrs. Allan Douglas presided. Good reports were given by the superintendents of departnifntal work showing that the work of seach is being pushed vigorously. Miss ' Ahier was re-elected superintendent ot prison work, and accorded a 'hearty vote of thanks for her unceasing interest in the female prisoners that she has permission to visit. Mrs. Boon, Buller street, asks for left-off clothing of all sizes to supply needy cases during the winter. There was a lively demand for the Band of Hope literature offered by the literature department. Mrs. K Okey reported that 109 mothers have pledged themselves to train their children to abstain from alcohol. All of the superintendents of tihe ten departments —worked by the local union—were given a vote of thanks for the year's work anil re-elected.- The Bazaar Committee reported good progress with their work. The president drew the attention of the members to the fact that a number of women throughout the Dominion who, under the new legislative powers of election, are now empowered to sit on hospital and charitable aid ilioard9. Several accounts were passed for payment.
