.MOi;!-]- SCRATCHED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. Moree has been scratched for all engagements at the Marlborough Racing Club's autumn meeting. TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.") Hawke's Bay Cup day. The Manaia. hack meeting takes place to-day. Xyland is expected to run well forward at the uawke's Bay meeting. The Mania, poto colt Xgatiniamii is well treated in the Xursery Handicap at Hastings. .Scarlet Woman, who made the pace at Stratford about New Year time, figures in the Maiden at Manaia. Wanganui nominations include old Woolloomoolloo, who raced with little j success eight years or more ago. Good reports come to hand of Red Star, who will be amongst the runners at Manaia. Roval Youngster is nicely weighted in the Manaia Handicap, and on Patea running the son of Uhlan could hardly have got in lighter. Uhlando has been entered for the principal flat events at Wanganui, and a victory for the little horse is long overdue. Tliev say that Compass is jumping a« well as of yore, anu Percy Coffey has 'his eye on one of those big stick events which loom largely ahead. When they put in on Clemency may you be with 'em! Perhaps it will be at Hastings, but Wanganui is not far off, either. Audax was palpably unfit at Trentham, but a race or two should put the Birkenhead gelding amongst the winners. Despite the alleged retirement of Celaeno, the ''Higlnlen" horse has been freely nominated for the Wanganui winter meeting. Antony has gone wrong, and in consequence his Wanganui engagements have been cancelled. Wanganui winter nominations total 394, as against 370 last year, and include Uhlando, Golden Loop, Waitapu, Pharos, Somali, Clemency, and Clemora. .Waitapu is making satisfactory progress with his schooling, and has been entered for the Century, May, and Kaitoke Hurdles at Wanganui next month. The Hawke's Bay Cup looks very open, but Bridge will carry heaps of Hawke's Bay coin when the machine closes today. Of the hurdlers at Hastings, nothing has been galloping better than The Possible mare Polyanthus, who is now getting a trifle on the ancient side.
The Canterbury trainer R. J. Mason journeyed to Hastings on Saturday, taking with him the two-year-old Lady Reina and Formeden. The latter is engaged in the Hawke's Bay Stakes, run on Thursday. Clifford's team for Hastings comprised Husbandman, Countermine, and Broadsword. The first-named ran prominently at Trentham recently, and if caught in a galloping .mood might show up at Hastings. Mocassin, Tilson, and Kiatere, who filled the places in last year's Wanganui Steeplechase, have been entered for the event again this year. Mr. O'Driscoll has Pharos engaged also. New aspirants for hurdle race honors engaged at the forthcoming Wanganui meeting include John, Wimmera, Merrie Lawn, Stewardess (who jumps very nicely), and Nicotine, Mr. J. 'Prosser has sent Gipsy Belle, Swimming Belt, St. Felix, and old Exmoor to Hastings. The three first-named horses ran 'well forward at Trentham this month, and may pick up a race or two before returning home. A Sydney cable states that Sir George Clifford has purchased the lilood stallion San Francisco. The pru-e is not stated.
