THE COMMONWEALTH.
FORMING A MINISTRY. MR. FISHER UNDERTAKES THE DUTY. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Melbourne, Tuesday. Mr. Fisher has arrived here and was ■warmly welcomed by a large gathering at the railway station. He waited on Lord Dudley and accepted the commission to form a Ministry. The Labor caucus meets to-day, and Ministers will be chosen by ballot. Mr. Fisher expects to announce the names of his colleagues before the end of the week. Speaking at the Eight Honrs luncheon, Mr. Fisher declared that the Labor Party would not be vindictive to the peril of any party or interest. It would cultivate the friendship of the State Parliaments within the proper sphere. It was gratifying to find the naval policy of the Labor Party had been unreservedly accepted. Mr. Fisher is disinclined to discuss Colonel Kirkpatrick's appointment. He considers the question ought not to be made a political one.
